Why Turkish Cotton?

Cotton produced in Turkey has features that distinguish it from other cottons. Accordingly, Turkish cotton consists of long and durable fibers. In addition, thanks to its fast drying feature, it reduces the wetness to a minimum and prevents the formation of bacteria. Thus, Turkish beach towels, throws, blankets produced with Turkish cotton offer a much healthier and more comfortable use. The Turkish Textile and Apparel industry, which includes the cotton weaving industry, is one of the most important competitive advantages of the Turkish economy with the added value it creates and the performance it shows. Our export of textile products, of which cotton is the raw material, has a significant share in our total export income. Exports of textile products worth $11.3 billion in 2008 and $9.6 billion in 2009 were realized. In this sense, cotton textile products are an important source of foreign exchange for our country. Since the 80's, cotton production has tended to increase continuously in line with the increasing needs of our textile industry. The fact that Turkey is a cotton country lies behind the rise of the Turkish textile industry, especially in exports, in the last 25-30 years.
